About Prof. Dr. Zubair Akram:
He is the President of the Pakistan Society of Interventional Cardiology (PSIC) and a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist with 30 years of experience in coronary interventions. He currently serves as Director, Cath Lab (Angiography Lab), at National Hospital and Post Graduate Medical Institute. In recognition of his expertise, he was honoured with the most prestigious fellowship award by the American College of Cardiology.
He previously served as Director, Cath Lab, at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology and as Head of the Cardiology Department at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore. Recognised as a pioneer in Pakistan for trans-radial interventions and primary angioplasty for acute myocardial infarction, he has professional experience at leading cardiac centres in the UK and France. He is a member of the international faculty for Singapore Live and EuroPCR.
An academic leader, he has trained more than 100 FCPS Cardiology fellows and currently holds the positions of Secretary, CPSP Cardiology Faculty, and Convener for Examinations (North) at CPSP. He has represented Pakistan at all major international cardiology forums and has authored numerous national and international publications. He also serves as an advisor to DRAP, the Punjab Healthcare Commission, and the Department of Health, Government of Punjab.
