College of Nursing was established in 2010. College of nursing national has been registered with Pakistan Nursing Council, Nursing Examination Board Punjab Lahore and affiliated with the University of Health Science, Lahore. College of Nursing National Hospital offered Basic Nursing Diploma (Certified Nursing Assistant) and postgraduate diplomas (Neuro Science Nursing, Cardiac Care Nursing and Trauma & Emergency Nursing). College of Nursing National Hospital also offered degree program of nursing (BScN Generic Nursing and BSc Post RN.

Our Story

National Hospital and Medical Center was a dream sought out by Professor Aftab Ahmad and Professor Shahida Khawaja and inaugurated as an orthopedic center in 1993. After years of struggle, dedication, and care, this medical center became a reputable and full-fledged healthcare institute and also running a nursing college under the umbrella. The National Hospital is now a comprehensive facility equipped to cater to a wide range of medical needs.

According to world health organization (WHO) statistical fact sheet (2022) nursing is the largest occupational group in the health sector, accounting for approximately 59% of the health professions. To achieve sustainable millennium development goals of health and wellbeing till 2030, all nations of the world need to increase their nursing student’s enrollment in institution by 10% per annum in order to compensate the current shortage of nine million nurses. Nurses’ role is vital in national and global targets related to a range of health priorities, including universal health coverage, emergency preparedness & response, mental health, communicable and non-communicable diseases, patient safety and integrated people centered care. College of Nursing is a constituent part of National Hospital and Medical center preparing nurses from the last 12 years. The impact of our college in the province and in the country is very bright. We have been preparing and training our graduates to assume the future role of nursing care provider, Nurse Educator, Advance nurse practitioner, Nurse Administrator & leader, and Nurse Researcher.
